The Allegany County Medical Reserve Corps’ (MRC)
purpose is to recruit and train health care and community volunteers
to respond to disasters and public health emergencies. A program of the
Western
Maryland Area Health Education Center, the MRC is guided by a local advisory
committee of key emergency response stakeholders from public health,
government emergency services, hospitals, volunteer centers, and community
and faith-based
organizations.
The Allegany County MRC is now recruiting and training volunteers to
support the existing community health care infrastructure, enhance the
county’s
emergency response structure, and provide public education. For information
to volunteer as a non-health professional, contact the Volunteer Center

Public Health, Allegany College of Maryland, Volunteer Center of Allegany
County,
