Neighborhood Connecions
Sponsored by the Multi-Agency Team of the Local Management Board, the Neighborhood Connections program seeks to be a welcoming presence in our communities and to stay aware of who is new and moving into our communities and to ease their transition to the area.
Begun in 2002 in Cumberland and expanded to include LaVale and Cresaptown in 2003, Neighborhood Connections is now looking to expand the program to include the communities of Frostburg, Mt. Savage, Lonaconing, and Flintstone. To do this they need volunteers.
The Volunteer Center of Allegany County has partnered with Neighborhood Connections to promote this fine program, assist in planning town meetings and the recruitment and training of volunteers.
If you live in or near one of these communities and love meeting new people and making new friends Neighborhood Connections might be just what you’re looking for.
